This spicy Italian feast turned out to be one of my best recipes, one to make again and again because it’s so quick and tasty!
Ingredients for Hot Sausage in Creamy Pasta
- ½ pound mild Italian sausage
- ½ pound spicy Italian sausage
- 2–4 cups bow tie pasta
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 pack frozen peas
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 pack cooking cream
- 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes/ cayenne pepper
- parsley (optional)
* You can easily make this recipe with 1 pound mild sausage or 1 pound spicy sausage, depending on taste preferences. It does not have to be half and half.
Boil the pasta in lightly salted water. Drizzle a dash of oil (or butter) at the bottom to prevent sticking.
While the pasta is boiling, dice the onion and garlic.
Rinse the sausage in a strainer and separate the meat from the one big chunk. Heat a pan with some oil and begin cooking the sausage.
The meat should lose its pink color when it cooks. Beware, sausage is hard to separate so get at it early with two spatulas to help break it apart into smaller pieces.

Stir in garlic and onion until tender
Heat the peas and after draining them, add them to the meat.
Once the meat is fully cooked, pour in the cooking cream. Add some cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the mixture. Stir so that the sausage is coated well.
Slowly stir in the pasta and mix it all up.
It looked and smelled so delicious I couldn’t resist taking a billion pictures…yum! A favorite for the whole family, with minimal effort.
Mangez bien, riez souvent, aimez beaucoup!
